Because Hordak and Entrapta actually like each other. They think the other person is so beautiful inside and out. They would never want to make them feel bad about themselves which is just awesome.
In so many straight couples I’ve been exposed to whether in real life or in the media, the couple act like they hate each other and are only together for convenience. Especially in high school, my friends would talk about their boyfriends as if they hated them and sometimes it’d make me concerned for their safety/well-being. Their boyfriends were often not very considerate of their feelings and interests. And this observation followed me to college. There were maybe three couples I know of where the partners were genuinely interested in each other.
And of course on TV, dysfunctional, dramatic, and even toxic het relationships are extremely popular. It just makes me so uncomfortable. Like how is it that Morticia and Gomez, a couple that’s meant to be against “tradition”, are one of the only well-known couples where the husband and wife actually care about each other. It’s really sad.Honestly, it’s probably why it took me a while to realize that I might be bi because the idea of being in the relationship with a man just feels like a waste of time, energy and growth.
Is it sus that one of the best m/f couple in a while involves a war criminal and a morally complex scientist? Sure. But also, we should discuss how sad it is that the bar is this low.
